Valhalla pays homage to York’s Viking history and creates an amazing atmosphere and night out that you won’t be able to find anywhere else. Their venue has two bars which serve eight different kegged beers and ciders as well as four cask ales. Following their Viking theme, half a dozen meads are also on offer. Start the new year right at 1331 Bar & Grill with their amazing drinks and delicious food. Food options include thirteen salads, melts, loaded jacket potatoes and comfort food perfect to prepare your stomach for a long night of drinking and celebrating.

The Biltmore

The Biltmore transforms every weekend into a lively bar with night club vibes where you can drink and party the night away this New Year’s Eve. Their DJ gets the night started after the dining service, and creates playlists that are unique to each evening meaning new years will be a night you can’t miss out on. The Biltmore are Northern Ambassadors for Moet Hennessy with many of their amazing, delicious premium products on house pour. Everyone is welcome to spend the night sipping on delicious cocktails and celebrating the past year and welcoming 2023.

Bobo’s Cocktail Bar

Let your hair down this New Year’s Eve at Bobo’s Cocktail Bar. Their funky, fun and laid back atmosphere will have you dancing all night long. Downstairs their DJ will be playing party classics to get you in the mood to party and their delicious cocktails are unforgettable. Sip on their famous flaming good Zombie cocktail, Bobo’s version of the classic Tiki drink, as the clock counts down to 2023.

Wine Bars

If dancing and drinking the night away in a bar or club isn’t the type of celebrating you love, start your night off at one of the many wine bars around York city centre. 2 Many Wines can be found only ten minutes away from the city centre along the vibrant Bishopthorpe road. Their wine list by the bottle is constantly changing, as well as some wine by glass being changed regularly. These wines can be enjoyed alongside their delicious cheese and charcuterie boards that are also changed every two weeks. This bar closes at 11:30pm, but is a great way to spend your night before heading off to party or celebrate the new year at home.

Join Pairings at their very popular New Year’s Tasting Event. For £120 per person you get drinks and canapes on arrival, five courses accompanied by fine wine pairings, a glass of champagne at midnight and tasting notes. The event begins at 8:30pm and keeps going until late so you can enter the new year with a stomach full of delicious foods and the finest wines.

Another night of amazing food and fine wine to celebrate the new year can be found at 22 Yards Wine. Tickets cost £120 per person which includes a champagne reception with canapes, a delicious six course dinner, champagne by the Minster bells at midnight, with wine packages also available. 22 Yards Wine have said there is no such thing as overdressed for their exclusive event, so pull out your best suit or most sparkly dress and look your best as you enter 2023.
