2 Many Wines on Bishopthorpe Road is also an independent wine shop and tasting room, ideal for those who want the full wine experience or just wanting to pop in for a gift for Mother’s Day. Created by owners Cryiaque and Benjy, their combined total of more than 50 years in the industry means you’re certainly in the right place if you love a good glass of wine or wanting to learn more about where it comes from.

Skosh has been in the city for over 5 years and is known for its selection of small plates and full dining experiences. The restaurant has international influence throughout their British dishes and is sure to have something for every mother to enjoy this Mothering Sunday. Skosh is widely renowned for their small plates as the reasonable pricing allows for more dishes to be tried throughout your time dining. Rattle Owl

This Mother’s Day Rattle Owl are extending their opening hours, allowing you to treat your Mum to a delicious Sunday roast. The casual dining experience is hosted on Micklegate within a tastefully restored, seventeenth century listed building. Produce used throughout the restaurant is mostly sourced from Yorkshire, delivering a fresh menu with vegetarian alternatives. Booking is recommended to ensure you can get a place.

The Grand

If you are looking for an activity for the whole family, why not consider the parent and child cookery classes held at The Grand. The three-hour activity teaches children how to cook a main course so your little ones can be a chef for the day.
