Malton

Malton in North Yorkshire is traditionally known as a market town, setting up their monthly food market in the town centre on every second Saturday of the month. After being named Yorkshire’s most renowned food market and Yorkshire’s food capital, expect to see a range of specialist stalls and a variety of street food. For those who care about where their food is sourced, we’d highly recommend you visit their next market.

Hambleton

Also located in North Yorkshire, you can find another traditional market in the heart of Northallerton on Wednesdays and Saturdays every week. One of Yorkshire’s retail gems takes place on the high street, selling products from fresh produce to hardware and clothes.

Easingwold

The vibrant Easingwold market takes place every Friday in their market square, offering the local community a selection of the best fresh fruit, cheese, bread and flowers. Alongside their regular stalls often appears guest stalls to bring more variety every week.

Kirkbymoorside

Located within the district of Ryedale, the historic market town of Kirkbymoorside holds their weekly markets on Wednesdays. After beginning in 1254 and being one of the last privately run markets in the UK, you’ll find all the traditional stalls along the cobbled streets.

Whitby

What’s better than a day trip to the coast? Spending your day exploring the town and visiting their local market. The traditional Whitby Open Market operates on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays every week. While browsing around all the stores you’ll be sure to find handcrafted gifts, clothing, antiques and everyones favourite baked goods. For anyone interested in taking a visit, their market place is located in front of the Grade II listed old town hall.
