One of York’s most famous Halloween attractions, Hallowscream is back at York Maze with its terrifying mazes and live actors. Expect an evening filled with scares, creepy environments, and pulse-racing moments. During your frightful evening you can also enjoy drinks, live stage shows, street food and treats from Fodder Barn, and a scary range of merchandise to browse. Tickets are now on sale from £24 with fast track and mid week saving options available to elevate your experience. You can get scared from the 11th of October until the 2nd of November on selected dates. Hallowscream is now 16+ only and no one under this age will be allowed inside the event.

For families who love to rave, this Halloween party by Raver Tots is perfect. Expect a fun-packed party with dancers, performers, cold Pyro, bubbles, giant balloons, confetti, lasers and the best house, garage and drum and bass music! There will also be exciting parachute games, face painting and a fully licensed bar. This spookily exciting Raver Tots party takes place on the 20th of October starting at 3pm. York Mansion House opens its doors this Halloween for an adults only spooky extravaganza. A Truly York Halloween is a truly spooky and spectacular party with Mad Alice of ‘The Bloody Tour of York’ giving guests a private tour of York that ends with a tale back at the house, music from local star Alistair Griffin with plenty of delicious treats and a Pie and Pea supper to be enjoyed. You will also be greeted with a complimentary spooky cocktail upon arrival and a sweet treat goody bag. This event is taking place on the 20th of October from 6:45 pm until 9:30pm. Only people aged 18+ are allowed and tickets are only £30 per person. If you’re looking to let loose and relax in a spooky way this Halloween, A Truly York Halloween is yeh party for you!

Explore York’s haunted history with this self-guided ghost spotting tour around the city’s beautiful settings. Perfect for all ages, this ghostly trail leads you through the city’s most beautiful public gardens and green spaces. There are 45 wire mesh ghosts to be discovered around York with a map available from the Visitor Information Centre on Parliament Street. You can discover these ghosts between 9am and 6pm everyday, please check venue opening times online before visiting, until the 5th of November making it the perfect day out for the whole family to enjoy.

Join a mystical wizard on this family-friendly magical Wizard Walk touring York’s cobbled streets. While not the scariest event on the list, it’s perfect for families who want to enjoy Halloween without the frights. On this tour there are no scary stories or spooky ghosts, but plenty of magical creatures to be spotted along the way. This silly and fun tour is perfect for children aged 5-10, but everyone who loves family fun and laughter can come along too. Tickets are £10 per person, with children under 4 free, and magic wand kits can be added to your booking for only £6 each. All tours start by St Crux Church at the bottom of the Shambles and take place on selected dates. If you want a Halloween activity without any spooky frights, this is perfect for you!
