This Christmas, York City Cruises is offering families an unforgettable adventure in the form of an hour-long cruise with the big man himself.

Setting sail from Lendal Bridge, the Santa Cruise Experience is the perfect way to embrace the wonder of the season. As you sit aboard a boat trimmed with sparkling decorations, you’ll be serenaded with live music and carols as you admire the city and its twinkling lights from a magical new vantage point.

Little ones will be kept entertained with the chance to meet Santa’s cheerful elves and write their own Christmas letter. They’ll also receive a complementary fruit drink and chocolate bar to eat during their voyage, while grown-ups can tuck into a mince pie with tea or coffee, or visit the onboard bar for further refreshments.

To round off the experience, you’ll visit Santa in his North Pole Grotto, where each child will receive a personalised gift to take home along with a goody bag as a memento of their trip – you’ll also be able to capture some snaps for the family album. The Santa Cruise Experience has been thoughtfully designed to provide an environment that’s calm, supportive and SEN-friendly.

If you’re looking for a more grown-up way to celebrate this special time of year, there’s also a 1-hour Festive Sightseeing Cruise that departs from King’s Staith Landing. This provides a well-earned break from Christmas shopping as you cruise along the river while listing to live commentary that reveals York’s fascinating past. You’ll be able to enjoy mince pies and mulled wine en route and background Christmas music will add to the atmosphere.

The Santa Cruise Experience sails every weekend from 22nd November and every day between 19th-23rd December. Prices start at £14 for adults, £16 for children and £8 for under twos.
Festive Sightseeing Cruises depart every day from 21st November until Christmas Eve with tickets staring at £16 for adults or £10 for children.
